Gov AbdulRazaq, wife felicitate Fabulous Ilorin Ladies Care on anniversary

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated an Ilorin based sociocultural group, Ilorin Ladies Care Foundation on the 10th year anniversary of the association.
Speaking at the 10th year anniversary of the association, Governor AbdulRazaq also commended the members of the association on the various achievements recorded since the association was founded.
Represented by Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji AbdulRazak Jiddah Governor said, the Ilorin Ladies Care Foundation has impacted significantly in the lives of the people particularly the less privileged.
The Kwara State First Lady, Amb. Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazaq at the event, charged members of the association to continue their good work in catering for vulnerable women, children, and the less privileged in the state, which include providing educational materials to schools, supporting correctional facilities and hospitals, rescuing trafficked girls, and sensitizing secondary schools on teenage pregnancy.
Speaking at the foundation’s event, the First Lady who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Afolashade Oluwakemi, commended the organization for its achievements since its inception in 2014
The Chairman of the occasion; Alhaji Tajudeen Ajibola Ibrahim Adeta in his remark congratulated the members of the group for their landmark achievements.
The representative of the Chairman of the occasion, Dr Garuba Manjo also felicitated with members of Fabulous Ilorin Ladies Care Foundation on 10th year anniversary.
Adeta also described the theme of the event as timely and apt, "because effective parenting connotes love, discipline, care, instilling a sense of responsibility, and diligence at home for our children.
"Effective parenting style always have influence on the children especially their morals and academic standards".
The Chairman added that, "to achieve effective parenting, parents had to be authoritative and communicative, interactive and must engage with children in such a way that they learn and grow into remarkable adults for the betterment of our society.
" Unfortunately, most parents nowadays, don’t care and are detached from their children, break bonding, and stop caring and reduce supervision, due to unending search for worldly materials.
"The adverse consequences is the breakdown of morals and bad ethical standards among the youths, with some of them taking to drugs, cultism, yahoo, armed robbery and banditry".
He however urged parents to change the narratives to achieve effective parenting by showing their children love, care, meet their morals and educational needs, communicate with them, serve as role model for them, devote adequate time for your kids, maintain discipline among them and ensure they are of good behavior, so that they can be responsible for the betterment of the society.
In her welcome address, the President of Fabulous Ilorin Ladies Care Foundation,Hajia Asmau Bimpe Yusuf said the idea of the foundation was conceived and registered in 2014 with the following objectives;
"to cater for vulnerable women and children ,to look into teenage pregnancy which is prevalent in our society, child trafficking and abuse and other challenges affecting both women and children in our society".
According to her, "myself along with some sisters and friends birthed this Non-Governmental Organization".
She informed that members work together assiduously in a bid to achieve objectives "and by the special grace of God we were able to achieve the followings:
Annual supply of educational and school materials to schools within Ilorin metropolis, visitation and supply of consumables to the correctional facility and hospitals, rescued some girls trafficked from Ilorin to Ghana & Lagos, sensitisation on teenage pregnancy in some secondary schools, mentoring of some girls who had teenage pregnancy and were rejected by their boy friends and families, and distribution of food palliative and cash to the less privileged.
The President explained that,"all these couldn't have been possible without the kind and sisterly support of our members and some notable Ilorin indigenes, some of them will be recognised today for their unflinching support to this association.
She however solicited for support from the government,private Individuals and organizations for the group.
"The foundation is not free from challenges, we therefore solicit your understanding and continue support in any way, to ensure we give back to the society and enhance the achievement of our noble objectives", she said
The National president , Fabulous Ilorin ladies Care Foundation , Hajia Asmau Bimpe Yusuf on behalf of FiLL care foundation expressed her profound gratitude to the Chairman of the Council of Kwara State Traditional rulers and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari for his support towards the success of the award and dinner ceremony organised by the foundation.
She also thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and wife, Amb Prof Olufolake AbdulRazaq, Director General National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu; Kwara State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Folashade opeyemi Oluwakemi and the Executive Chairman Kwara State Geographic Information System KWGIS, Mallam Babatunde Sulyman among other distinguished personalities for their supports.
